The Problem

Book prices on Bookswagon change constantly. A book might be ₹1,200 today, drop to ₹899 next week, and jump back up the week after. Without a way to see the full history, it's impossible to know if you're getting a good deal or paying full price.

Commercial price trackers like Keepa exist for Amazon, but there was nothing comparable for Bookswagon—the largest online bookstore in India, especially for manga and imported editions.

What BookRadar Does

Tracks prices daily. Every book added to the database is checked once a day. The full price history is stored, so you can see exactly how the price has changed over weeks or months.
Shows price history graphs. Every book has a chart showing its price over time, with the all-time low marked. You can filter the graph by 7D, 30D, 1Y, or All to see short-term drops or long-term trends.
Sends alerts. Set a target price for any book you're tracking, and you'll get an email (and browser push notification) the moment the price drops below it.
Public Explore page. Browse the full catalog of tracked books without an account. Search by title, sort by discount, price, or most tracked, and see price histories for every book in the database.
Personal Dashboard. Sign in to build your own watchlist, set alerts, and see a dedicated chart for each of your tracked books.
Chrome Extension. View BookRadar price history directly on any Bookswagon book page, and add books to the public tracker with one click—no login required.
Top Drops ticker. The homepage shows the biggest active price drops across all tracked books, updated daily.

🔒 Your Privacy Matters

BookRadar does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising. Your email is used solely for price alerts. Your watchlist is private to you. We don't sell or share your data with anyone.

How It Works

BookRadar is built as a set of small, independent services that work together:

Scraper: A Python script runs once a day to check the price of every book in the database.
Backend: A Flask API (hosted on Render) stores all price history, user data, and alerts.
Database: A PostgreSQL database (hosted on Neon) holds all the historical price data.
Frontend: Static HTML/CSS/JS pages (hosted on Cloudflare Pages). Fast, no framework, no tracking.
Chrome Extension: Injects the BookRadar panel directly onto Bookswagon book pages so you can see price history without leaving the site.

Why Free?

BookRadar is a personal project. It doesn't have investors, ads, or a business model. The goal is simply to make book prices on Bookswagon more transparent for everyone.
